FIFA World Cup 2026 Final at Kallang Wave Mall: Free Carnival Screening and the Stadium Atmosphere Next Door
The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final is set: Argentina vs Spain, Monday 20 July 2026, 3.00am Singapore time, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Lionel Messi's Argentina are chasing back-to-back titles after edging England 2-1 in their semi-final, while Spain outclassed France 2-0 to book the other spot. For fans who want stadium atmosphere without flying to New Jersey, Kallang Wave Mall is the closest thing in Singapore, sitting inside the Sports Hub precinct where SportSG is running its flagship finals-weekend activation with carnival activities from midnight.
The Kallang: the stadium-side screening
SportSG's World Cup plan brands the National Stadium precinct as "The Kallang", and the Final is being screened at Kallang Wave Mall itself, the retail wing of the Sports Hub at 1 Stadium Walk. This is the closest you can get to stadium atmosphere on this side of the planet: the mall sits literally under the stadium dome, and SportSG is running carnival activities from midnight before the 3am kick-off, so the site turns into a fan village rather than just a place with a screen. The screening covers the tournament's final four matches, meaning both semi-finals on 15 and 16 July, the third-place play-off between France and England on 19 July at 5am, and the Final on 20 July at 3am.
This is a free, walk-in community screening, not the paid Bar Soccer venue elsewhere in the mall. Bar Soccer has its own season-pass screenings running through the tournament, but the finals-weekend carnival at Kallang Wave Mall is the public, no-ticket activation organised through SportSG and Mediacorp's free-to-air broadcast. The Final is one of 28 matches Mediacorp is airing free on Channel 5 and mewatch, so the feed at the mall is broadcast-grade, not a grainy stream.
Why Kallang is different from the CC circuit
The People's Association is running the Final at 56 community clubs islandwide, and those are the workhorse venues: a screen, chairs, and the Mediacorp feed in a neighbourhood hall. The Kallang Wave Mall screening is the upgrade. Five ActiveSG sport centres, including Bukit Canberra, Sengkang, Pasir Ris, Clementi and Choa Chu Kang, are running a parallel Football Finals Watch Party Carnival from 12am to 7am on 19 and 20 July with interactive games, challenges and complimentary refreshments, registration at go.gov.sg/fwp26. The Kallang activation sits alongside these but carries the added weight of the Sports Hub location, which is the home of Singapore football. If you watched the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup final or any National Stadium match here, the noise at 3am during a World Cup Final will rhyme.
Getting there is the hard part
The catch is the timing. It is 3am on a Monday, the MRT is not running at kick-off, and the NightRider and Nite Owl night buses only run on Friday, Saturday and eve-of-holiday nights, so there is no night bus on a Sunday night. Kallang Wave Mall sits directly above Stadium MRT (CC6), which is excellent for getting home, because Monday's first trains start around 5.45am and a regulation 90 minutes ends around 5am, leaving only a short wait, or none if the match goes to extra time and penalties. Getting there means driving, a taxi or PHV, or walking if you live close enough. The Sports Hub has ample parking, but check the overnight rate. Expect PHV surge pricing right after the final whistle.
If you are driving in for the carnival, arrive from midnight when the carnival activities start, not at 2.55am. The pre-show is the reason to pick a carnival venue over a plain CC screening, and a Kallang Wave Mall that has been filling since midnight will be at capacity well before kick-off for a Final like this.
