Had a great experience trying to find my first pair of climbing shoes. Went with a friend who was more experienced and together with the employee there at the time, Shahdan, I got some help to make an informed decision. Shahdan was friendly and approachable, and gave solid advice paired with his personal experiences. Thanks to that I was able to find a very suitable pair of shoes as well as pick up some other equipment. Really grateful for the help!

Underhanded business practices. Anti-consumer refund practices practiced under the guised of safety, even though it goes far beyond other climbing retailers
'Sales' are for goods with big red flags which they do not highlight for inexperienced buyers (despite all the emphasis on safety). For instance, they're selling a 9yr old rope for 1.30$/m. Which sounds like a good deal, except ropes have a generally accepted hard shelf life of 10yrs, and you would find ropes at that age priced in the ballpark of half that.

The customer service for the Crank Factory online store is terrible. On the online store it advertises that there is $5 discount for signing up for the mailing list, and also that registering the Boulder World ID will give 10-15% discount. However, no discounts have been provided after 2 weeks of registering and all attempts to contact them via chat and email have gone unanswered. Very disappointing and false advertising
