Authentic Japanese kaisendon restaurant at Kallang Wave Mall, serving 19 varieties of fresh sashimi rice bowls with signature seasonings and traditional Japanese flavors.
Kei Kaisendon at Kallang Wave Mall brings authentic Japanese kaisendon (sashimi rice bowls) to Singapore's premier sports and entertainment destination. Founded in 2018, this popular Japanese restaurant chain has expanded to dozens of locations across Singapore, specializing in fresh sashimi served over perfectly seasoned rice. Located strategically within the Singapore Sports Hub complex, Kei Kaisendon offers both locals and visitors a convenient dining option with operating hours from 11am to 10pm daily.
The restaurant's menu features 19 varieties of kaisendon, each specially designed with the right blend of fish, toppings, and seasonings to deliver a unique taste experience. Signature dishes include the Kei Signature Kaisendon (starting from S4.90++) and the popular Salmon Kaisendon (S9.90). Diners can enhance their meals with add-ons like Onsen Egg (S.90++), Sesame Tofu (S.90++) and Gyoza (S.90++), or opt for the comprehensive Burpple Beyond Set (S2.90++) which includes a main dish, two gyozas, soup, salad, and choice of hot or cold green tea.
Customers consistently praise Kei Kaisendon for its fresh ingredients and excellent service, with staff going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The restaurant offers convenient delivery through Deliveroo with a 32-minute estimated delivery time, making it accessible whether you're dining in at Kallang Wave Mall or enjoying their kaisendon at home. With its commitment to quality and authentic Japanese flavors, Kei Kaisendon has become a standout dining destination in Singapore's eastern region.
I used to frequent this place mainly because of the exceptional service provided by a wonderful Chinese lady. Her innovative ideas and warm service always left a lasting impression to me and my colleagues, making us want to return. She was the main reason I previously rated this place 5 stars.
Unfortunately, she no longer works here, and I've noticed a decline in service quality since her departure. Even some of the food, like the miso soup, has gone downhill. What used to be a rich, flavorful soup filled with clams and salmon is now just plain miso soup.
While most of the main dishes remain fine, the prices are on the expensive side, and without her exceptional service, it just doesn't feel the same anymore.

We ordered the premium set that came with salad , soup , 2 mentako prawns and a drink NOT realising that their store promotion was giving free soup and salad with any main ordered . We could have saved some money but was not informed by the staff . By the way the ventilation at the shop was bad , our clothings smelled when we left the shop.

The service was really poor, and the place was extremely hot. We had to wait an unreasonably long time for the food, and the entire area was smoky. By the time the food arrived, we were already quite annoyed. To make matters worse, we were not given any cutlery — apparently, we were expected to take it from diners at the table next to ours. There was also a long queue just to pay, as customers had to tell the cashier what they ordered — a highly unusual and inefficient practice. Overall, it was a terrible dining experience. The food was decent, but it didn’t make up for everything else.

Thanks for your message. Honestly, though, I've seen the same issues raised in past reviews — long waits, sloppy service, lack of cutlery, and a clumsy payment system. It’s disappointing that these issues still persist.
It doesn’t seem like much has changed despite earlier feedback, so I’m not sure what kind of “investigation” was actually done. These problems have already been clearly mentioned in public reviews, so asking customers to reach out privately feels more like a formality than a genuine step toward improvement. I won’t be reaching out, but I do hope the management starts taking real action where it’s needed.

Ordered the kaisendon with extra sashimi but unfortunately the taste was not fantastic and rice was slightly sour (a little too sour). sashimi didn't look that fresh although tasted okay. the extra sashimi which i paid more than $4 for was not very worth it, considerably less salmon was given and lots of cucumbers were included instead.
the redeeming item is the tamago with mentaiko which was delicious! highly recommend trying that! the bowl was otherwise average, not lousy but not great either.

Wife and I ate their Kei Signature Chirashi Don on 1 July 2025 at 7pm.
Sme fishes tasted bitter. Sushi was not entirely cold too. Barely passable.
We both have diarrhoea from 9pm onwards. Have not eaten anything else between this and dinner.
If anyone else experienced the same, do step forward to confirm this. Thanks.

Food was so so, not worth the price. The service quality was basic.
Gave us the wrong drink and when we corrected the order, just took the drink away. No service decency of a courteous apology, just walk away.
For the price, I'll rather pay more for Tanuki Raw... good food, excellent service!
So already bad experience and today 29Mar(955pm) at Changi, I was just in front of KeiKaiSenDon Jewel Changi with no intention of walking in since I've already had my dinner.
The staff serving existing customers, made the effort to walk out to the entrance when I was about to move away just to curtly throw me a statement "we are closed. " and as fast as she appear, she disappeared.
I am appalled. Really bad taste. Left an impression that service training definitely is not a focus for this Singapore Prestige Brand 2020/ 21 award winning restaurant.

Rice wasn’t cooked. Playing Chinese songs. Fish were small cut. Bowls paint came off. Need serious improvement

Overall, it’s value for money and service!
Drinks, salads and soups are free flow here! Woohoo. To top it off, the soup has a appropriate amount of tofu, seaweed and also clam (you got that right ya!) I mean, you don’t get everywhere laaaa
Also, the portion we ordered were small. But holacola it’s huge and it’s filling~~
Service was pretty excellent too!! Very proactive on the refills!

Good service though it’s relatively small & cramp, staffs are attentive.
Food is consistent with its chain.

The signature don is quite large portion. Sashimi is fresh although the wasabi taste weird, like being left in the fridge for a long time. Service is quick and friendly.

First time trying this outlet at Kallang Wave which is fairly new to the mall, and we loved it! The staff are friendly and the quality of the sashimi fresh. The tables are a bit small but thankfully we still could squeeze a baby on a baby chair. We hope to be back again soon 🙏🏻 P.S. This is the only Kaisendon outlet to offer free flow soup, salad, and can/bottle drinks! 🤩

still my go-to for convenient sashimi dons in singapore. i think price might have increased? so a regular signature don would cost $22.90 after GST and service charge.
still refillable salads and soup which i love. soup has tofu and salmon.

Decent variety as well as quality and portion size of the food, at pretty reasonable prices.
However, the shop space is tiny, with tiny tables and chairs tightly placed together, making for a rather cramped dining experience.
That said, it is not a place for one to chill and dine slowly, especially given the perpetually long queue outside the eatery during regular mealtimes.

I have been to quite a few Kei Kaisendon restaurants but this one stood out because of the amazing services provided by a bubbly Chinese lady. She was constantly checking on whether we had enough of the salad and miso soup, and I can’t believe how cheerful she can be on a mid week 9pm. All the other restaurants in Kallang wave were gently declining us at 8.30pm but she was the only one who was very enthusiastic about getting us into the restaurant (and another group at 9ish after us). Food is good too - I like that the miso soup is flavorful (see the clam in the pic?) and doesnt taste like it came out of a packet. The raw fish are also very fresh. Only thing is the grilled prawn is not so fresh (hence the 4 stars)
