Traditional Teochew braised duck rice restaurant at Kallang Wave Mall, serving authentic heritage recipes since 1961 with signature duck dishes and specialty chilli sauce.
Yew Kee Specialities at Kallang Wave Mall continues a proud culinary heritage that began as a humble pushcart in 1961, bringing authentic Teochew braised duck rice to Singapore's modern Sports Hub district. This beloved local brand has evolved from street food origins to become a respected restaurant group, yet maintains its commitment to traditional cooking methods and quality ingredients. Located at #02-12 with daily operating hours from 8am to 9:30pm, Yew Kee serves both early risers and evening diners with consistent flavors that have satisfied Singaporeans for over six decades.
The restaurant's signature Duck Rice (.50) showcases the traditional Teochew method of braised duck cooking, utilizing more than 10 different types of herbs, spices, and ingredients to create their distinctive braised sauce. Each serving features juicy duck meat with strong meaty flavor and fatty duck skin, accompanied by fragrant rice and slightly herbaceous gravy that embodies authentic Teochew culinary traditions. The menu extends beyond duck rice to include a comprehensive selection of seafood, poultry, beef, pork, and vegetarian dishes, plus an array of desserts, with their specialty chilli sauce serving as the perfect complement to every dish.
Yew Kee offers modern conveniences including online ordering for pickup to skip queues, set meals perfect for large groups, and comprehensive catering services for special occasions. The restaurant accepts eCapitaVoucher and DBS payments with INSTANT STAR$ earnings, combining traditional flavors with contemporary payment convenience. Their strategic location in Kallang Wave Mall makes authentic local cuisine accessible to international visitors and sports fans, while continuing to serve the loyal local community that has supported Yew Kee's journey from pushcart to established restaurant chain.
Quality of food gets worse with each visit. Soup for the duck kway teow is too sweet and salty. Duck pieces were few and tiny compared to the photo illustration. On a positive note, service has improved, so give 1 star.

Tried the Kway Chap set ($6.50) here and it was pretty average. Portion size was satisfactory for the price considering it's in an air con place, and they served really quickly. Not a bad place for a quick meal in the area, especially if nothing else in the food court next door suits your taste.

Had a slight poor experience here. Ordered 2 dish of the signature duck rice. First one came normal but 2nd one has pathetically lacking of duck meat. So inconsistent and unacceptable considering the price. Went to exchange for the 2nd and the chef replaced the meat. This should not happen in the first place. Will recommend the manager or supervisor to maintain quality control. Poorest Yu Kee outlet that I have been too. Looking at other reviews seems like the only thing consistent was the inconsistency.

Ordered Kway chap set for $6.50. The kway was quite little actually (see photo). Luckily the ingredients were tender and flavourful. Loved the big intestine (but only a few small pieces).

Might be more value for money if you just order Set 1. The duck meat for set 2 was less than set 1 (compared when I saw those who purchased)

Rice can be more generous for a 2pax meal. (requested to have slightly more rice, asked to pay for another small bowl)

I really worried about food coz after I ordered food and saw customers review and rating was 2.8…
But actually, no bad taste.
Meat is quite tender and rice is flavourful.
I think service wise, old school Singapore local style that’s way sometimes they looks rude but this is usual service this price range.

Had my lunch with colleagues on the 20th May 2025. Decide to eat braised duck cause have craving.
However disappointed with the portion between their set and normal duck rice. Look similar in term of portion but price more expensive by $1.50.
Will still give them chance cause been eating their branches all around singapore. Food still moderately ok.
The man at cashier counter still good servicing though. Greet and humble.

The service could use some improvement at this Yew Kee outlet. On 16/2/2025 early evening we ordered duck porridge for our 2-year-old and made a small simple request for the ingredients to be separated from the porridge into a separate bowl, to avoid food wastage in case he doesn’t like all the ingredients; but both male staff were insistent and a bit rude that this couldn’t not be done at all otherwise they would have to do that for every customer 🤔 This didn’t make sense, and indeed the porridge became wasted. The food was decent although the duck quantity was lacking in our other dishes. Decent cleanliness but could be improved especially the floor.

It used to be a place I’d like to go regularly for my meal before rock climbing, but they removed the alchemy fiber rice I’ve stop going. Sad that they remove that special fiber rice as sports man we like healthy version
As you can see they take two pieces to three pieces of duck meat slap it and make it look like it’s more so no money value in total u only get 2/3 pice of duck haa a joke

Very rude stuff, ridiculously small portion of food and very very salty. This is what happened. I added roasted pork on top of duck rice that i ordered. Yu kee charged me 3 dollars for 7 small pieces of roasted pork as photo attached. When the aunty was chopping roasted pork for mine, I asked the aunty in nice and polite way, "3 dollar portion is that much?". She shouted at me back saying "how many pieces you want, whole strip not enough meh." in Chinese. Then she right away took away the left over strip. SHE DID NOT GAVE ME A WHOLE STRIP YET SHE SHOUT AT ME. I didn't argue or talk back further, I just kept quiet and collected the food. I have a colleague witness the whole incident. Why do I have to get shouting and embarrassment when I talked in nice manner? Everyone queuing to order, waiting for the food and seated down could hear her voice. On top of that she lied that she was giving me whole strip of roasted pork. For thoes seated and dinning wouldnt know unless the stand up and see she took away nearly half of the strip! And when I start to eat, I was very disappointed. The food overall was very salty. Among all yu kee outlet, this is the worse experience I ever had. Those to read this don't bother going here

Bought a duck rice for $6. Went home and discovered a paltry amount of duck in the box. Decided to weigh it and was shocked to find there was only 25 grams of meat. Don’t waste your time. Eat an egg, you will get more protein than this.

Food is nice. 2 person's set at $15 is reasonable. Service at counter is good. The place is not crowded on weekday night, so it was rather pleasant and comfortable. Choice of drinks is very limited.

Not gonna lie, it was good. probably one of the best braised duck rices i’ve in a very very long time.
Their duck meat feels so tender. Rice is aromatic. Soup tasted herbal and sweet. i seriously could have drank more than 2 bowls of their soups but was to embarrassed to ask so.
Personally, what i think makes this dish so delicious is their gravy . they are pretty generous on pouring their gravy all over the rice and meat.
Sitting area here at the Kallang Wave Mall outlet can be quite limited , therefore you will have difficulties finding a table if you have a group of more than one! so avoid the lunch crowd of 12-2pm!
Service wise, just average. not unfriendly or rude. however nothing out of the ordinary.
Suddenly, Yu Kee Duck Rice has currently become my favourite place to enjoy a nice juicy plate of duck rice!
Now i know why this brand is so well known over Singapore.
Their signature dish is Duck Rice, but you recommended to try their other meal dishes.

Famous Duck Rice with the same quality as the other branches! The organisation here was pretty bad though and staff forget orders immediately after we ordered… Food was served quickly though!
